I knew you'd explain it much better :) I just want to add what was unexpected to me too. Don't know when changed but redeclaration of public doesn't error in VFP5 and up (in VFP3 ?). So I didn't mention that at all. Sure on my part I still accept it would cause problems and do not redeclare (actually do not use public:).
