Hi Roberta,

If nothing prints, are the readers supposed to guess the barcode contents? ;-)

Seriously though, if you're running single cards through your printer, it is possible that the printout is comming out elsewhere. Try to feed a full letter-sized sheet through the printer and see if anything comes out where you don't expect it and adjust accordingly (just a wild guess).

One of the most common problems people have with Code39 is that the string you're encoded must be surrounded by asterisks. For example, if you want to print ALEX123 then you must actually print *ALEX123*. Your reader will strip the asterisks and interpret it as ALEX123.

Also, do NOT include asterisks as parts of your string (i.e. it's not a good idea to print a barcode for BIG*DISK. I would stick to characters (a..z) and numbers (0..9) to be sure.

Good luck!

Alex

>I have created a program that creates regular id card with code 39 barcode indicating employee id informtation. However, when I try to print the card, nothing prints. Also I can't get my program to read the code 39 barcode from a card. Any ideas from someone who has created similar programs would be helpful.
