My company still uses Netware 2.15 (yes, you read correctly) as a file server for about dozen users. In 7+ years, we never had any real problems with it and it still runs like a ROCK! We will be upgrading to new NOS (probably to NT Server 4.0) in few months but I have a problem that I need to solve now.
The server response have been pretty good for DOS and Windows 3.1 users. I'm the only person in the office who use Windows 95 as a client and the speed is realllllly slow. Is there a known problem using Windows 95 client to access this older version of Netware or other versions of Netware? Simply I/O operations take forever to complete in Windows 95! Are there any workarounds?
We also run peer-to-peer Windows network in addition to Netware for those machine capable of running Windows. I also noticed printing under Windows 95 in our setup is much slower than under Windows 3.1.
I know there is a solution somewhare. Can anyone help?
TIA
John.
