Client Server applications by Hertzenwerke is a good starting point!

To get the data into SQL, you can use the VFP upsizing wizard.

To get a remote view of this data create a new database, add it to a project
then under the data tab, you need to create a connection giving it all the details about your SQL server.
You can then create a remote view.
(you will also need an odbc data source setting up in control panel)
