>Uh, Tom? I'm in Seattle, the weather's no better up here. My motorcycle travel is pretty much restricted to the Puget Sound area until the snow melts off the passes about May.

Mike;

At what altitude will in snow in your area? My wife and I went to visit Oregon – Portland to Pendleton. When we passed The Dalles (about 900 feet?) we saw signs about snow on the hi-way something like "Snow Line". This was the end of August so “not to worry”. Too early for snow. :) I was stationed at Condon Air Force Station Oregon, about 3400 feet elevation and remember snow.

We had a storm in 1964-65 that closed I-5 for two weeks, between California and Oregon. I was home in San Francisco, and could not get back to the Radar Site. What a trip that was when I returned! Hi-way 101 was closed at one stretch for about 1 1/2 years not far from Eureka due to the same storm.

Tom
