>>At what altitude will in snow in your area?

>Well, I do plenty of skiiing at Snoqualmie Pass, which is about 3400 feet. I've been turned back by unplowed roads on the bike in April/early May at much lower altitudes. For example, we have my aborted trip to Windy Ridge by Mt. St. Helens:

Very nice! You have to be ready for anything. We were on the West Side of the Cascades and lost in the snow which was about 3 feet deep. Never fear! I was a Boy Scout and learned that moss grows on the North side of trees. With knowledge of what direction North was I could figure out how to get out. Except when the vegetation is so dense that the trees never see sunlight! Moss was growing on all sides of the trees. I then went to plan two and we found our way out. Great country any time of year.
