Mike VFP has only one pallet for the hole application if set pallet is off the VFP uses the pallet of the first bmp or OLE object that he loads.
This means that if your bmp's have different pallets than you can have the bmp's not displaying properly.

Its important however to reduce them all together so that the graphics package that reduces them creats a palette which contains colours for everything on the form. That combined with creating proper .MSK files has helped clear more or less it all up.
