Mike VFP has only one pallet for the hole application if set pallet is off the VFP uses the pallet of the first bmp or OLE object that he loads.
This means that if your bmp's have different pallets than you can have the bmp's not displaying properly.

That combined with creating proper .MSK files has helped clear more or less it all up.
