In FoxPro for Windows, you could print a report created in FoxPro/DOS, and it would print in text mode. I don't know whether this still works in VFP6.
What I currently do is create a textfile with "?" and "??" (another alternative, used by other programmers, is "@...say"), and then send printer codes and the textfile (loaded in RAM with filetostr()) directly to the printer with "???".
More details on request.
I think I will have to write a FAQ on this, but I didn't find the time to do it yet.
