I've been researching the existing technologies and I think I'm settling on FAQ-O-Matic (http://faqomatic.sourceforge.net/fom-serve/cache/1.html) which isn't quite the kind of app you suggested and it isn't a VFP app either but I think that it will serve my purposes for now. And it is free <g>.
