>Hi all. I upgraded (by rebuilding) my PC to Windows XP a couple of weeks ago. All of a sudden, I am having major problems. Yesterday, I lost My Documents. Lost my Classic View settings, taskbar, desktop wallpaper. When I start Outlook, I have to go through an installation process. Everything on my hard drive is Read Only. If I un-mark Read Only, it goes through the motions of changing the attributes but when I check it a minute after it's "Complete" everything is read only again. I cannot do virus updates because I don't have permissions to. I was reading Microsoft's Knowledge Base, but haven't come up with anything great. The Read Only problem may be related to encryption but the encryption/decryption is basically a toggle and you can't tell which way is "selected", i.e., to decrypt you are instructed to check the encryption box. I also keep losing my network drive mapping.
