Hello everyone,

I have activated my project for multiple databases for an accounting application to have a seperate database per package (IE GL, AP) etc.
I have performed all the step mentioned in the manual:
- added records to the MetaDBC
- Set the .lUseDBCMgrMetaData=.T.
- created new environment classes for each database added to the MetaDBC table.

The problems I am having are:

(1) When in the user preferences form, the database key and path default to the first record in the MetaDBC.dbf table, not the database KEY for the database I plan to use. Even If I erase the registry entry so the preference form is displayed when I start my app I get the same behavior. One time I got a combo box to appear which let me select the key, but it is not appearing now.

Maybe the registry setting doesn't matter because the framework will be reading out of the MetaDBC instead?

Can anone explain how I got the combo box to appear and what the expected behavior is?

What is the Ldefault field in the MetaDBC record used for?

(2) When in a grid builder, adding the controls to the controlsource, I select the button that gives me a pick list of the available controls. For each database I've defined in my MetaDBC (but haven't created physically yet), an error message is displayed.

Is it possible to have the MetaDBC table populated but not have the actual databases created without having the framework generate errors in the builders?

Thank you,

Gary Pike.
