I don't use PUBLIC either. I orginally posted that PUBLIC and PRIVATE variables will both work, with no advantage over each other in the situation I gave. Jim proved that the PRIVATE has the advantage because you have to RELEASE the variable explictly. Its a trivial advantage, but I was wrong.
