>Actually, it'd be a waste if I had to take back all the reserves thereof that I have here, if this employment xenophobia forces me home.
Dragan,
I have a friend in Atlanta who has been looking for "general office work" over the last 6-8 weeks. She was a senior manager of Human Resources 11 years ago, when she quit to raise her kid.
Anyway, she applied to several Federal, State and local government offices, only to be told in virtually every case that they hire only U.S. citizens. She is of Portugese birth and a Canadian citizen who has lived in Atlanta and duly paid taxes for over 10 years.
Now I understand that the employment situation is tough, but it now seems to be being carried to the extreme. And all this homeland security stuff is surely going to call for LOTS of clerical workers.
Good luck with your search. Using you as my thermometer I have concluded that the employment situation there may well be far worse than is being publicized.
Jim
