But not sure how that applies in the context of this discussion... perhaps I misspoke.
My point is that I could take an existing application currently running on a LAN and "transform" it into a web-enabled fat client /server application by simply compiling my BOs into web services (along with a few other modifications to the code on client) This, IMHO, WOULD be a new dimension for a mature application.
However, this apparently is a moot point since the web services are not designed to be stateful. As we discussed in another branch of this thread, though, I may be able to get what I need out of it by passing the entire results of the query from the server using XML to a "sister" object on the client which re-converts the XML to a usable cursor in my VFP client. (That's the theory anyway :)
