Hi,

If you go with a .NET product like VB to handle the scripting for your web app, what are you going to use for the database? You might take a look a VFP7. It’s been improved with ADO OLE DB so it can act as a database provider to C++, J+, C#, and VB. You can also create an ASP page with appropriate HTML tags to access a VFP7 table. Add to that excellent compatibility with office and you will see that VFP7 is well equipped to act as a web database to a windows IIS web server. Also, it has a great GUI for building your tables and working with your web project locally. When you price VFP7 compared to MsSQL on a per user cost, you will see that VFP7 is a good value. Also, there are improved multithreading capabilities in VFP7. Since you ask the question on the UT, I assume you have some background with VFP so you could really leverage your VFP expertise by choosing it VFP7. Also, althought VFP is not part of .NET, it can still be used in the middle tier layer of a three tier web application to provide business logic and super fast access to a VFP7 backend.

The opinion express are strictly mine.
