>I am a new user of Visual Foxpro, so bear with this simple question...I am trying to create a lookup grid which displays a subset of fields and records based on a search criterion entered from a previous form. I am trying to use a filter to display the records in the grid and to allow a double click on any line in the grid to display the full record selected. I constantly get an empty grid when I try the above, help...

Robert,
Can you be a little more specific about how you are trying to build the
filter expression? I suspect that you are not sending any records to the
lookup screen since you can't see anything. You might try running the first
form without closing the command window. After you switch to the second
form (the one with the grid) use the mouse to select the command win and do a BROWSE NORMAL (assuming that the database is in the current work area).
IF you do not see anything in the browse, the problem is probably in the
filter expression (the first form). If you see records, the problem is
in the second form.

Let me know if you don't find the answer.

Mike
