I'm looking for comments on an idea I have. As far as I can find out, the software does not exist. I am trying to determine if it is worth the effort to write it and if anyone here thinks it is something that would be of use.

The idea is to use peer to peer communication to send files between any two computers. You would not need a fixed IP address and you would be able to send any file between any two PCs. A sales person in the field could dial up the internet and your app would request a report from the office by putting the request in a small table that gets sent to the office. The office PC could also have only dial up access and still get the request, your app would process the request on the office end and send the report data back to his PC.

Many peer to peer file transfer programs are already available but require a lot of user training and intervention. This idea would be entirely transparent to the users.

Is this just a dumb idea or something of value? Thanks in advance for your comments.
