I didn't think it would happen so quicky, but here I am coding away, thinking about what project to tackle for my company, I fall into UPS - and its about time I start working with UPS.
So I download the UPS current Docs (interesting enough they are dated Sept 11th 2001 ) and what has happend, everything I started with back in june with dll files files, is all history... Gone, not avail nothing.... .
Now everthing UPS is doing is all XML based. with DTC's and XPCI allowing programmers to not use dlls but use whatever language to access their data of the internet, passing in xml request, and (for freight rates delivery times etc.) the samples they have are in VB an java. (of course nothing in VFP .)
So the obvious question,....
Has anyone real world worked with these formats yet ? using VFP. At devcon, I saw Ken an crew show us all that in 15 minutes this type of application could be consumed using VFP7 ...But becuase it was all too new , and I wasnt being faced with the need for it, much of what was talked about ... how should I saw. was interesting, for the future.
We boys and girls. the future is here, its out of the test labs, of MS and IBM and Sun and its actually being used in business.
Samples, Links, White papers, examples....
anything.....

In the beginning, there was a command prompt, and all was well.
