I've done the test both stand alone, on one system under Win95 and 2000. And on a WIN2000 peer to peer network with 2 x Win 2000 machines.

The TableUpdate is in the Flush_Buffers routine which is within the BEGIN/END TRANSACTION.

As for the HD, I I would guess they're cached as you suggest.

I'm intrigued by Sergey's undocumented SYS(1104) which I'm just about to try. I'll let you know.
