What is the scope of a cursor (Create Cursor) created in a method? Based on some problems I am having it would appear to be local.

I created a Cursor in the postinithook (custom method called from Init) of a control. The name was saved as a property of the control. In a subsequent method I attempt to access the Cursor but the form errors out telling me the cursor does not exist.
