One of my clients has been running a FP 2.5 application for several years in a DOS window on a Win. 95 workstation.
Last month, after installing a new version of McAfee Virus Scan, a 'too many files open' error started to occur in one of the programs.
Currently, they do not have a 'files=' statement in Config.sys.
Is this statement actually used in the DOS environment on a Win. 95 workstation or is there a setting somewhere else that I am not aware of?
Also, how do I determine what the current files setting is and the # that are required?
Am I on the right track to resolving the problem?
