Personally I did nto used it yet in production. Though I have seen a lot of feedbacks that this works (and all feedbacks I collected in that FAQ article).
I guess this approach is reliable enough. This is because the way used to attach code to events/methods in usual class is the same. In addition, DEFINE CLASS structure have a feature to use ADD OBJECT structure. It adds object and you can then define code for that object using the same way - {object name}.{method or event}. What if instead of object we have just a property with object assigned? It looks like we have just the same here. So I assume it will work by quite reliable way.
