>Hello All
>I have a request from the users of a contracts application written in Visual Foxpro 6.0 and using the Mmortals Framework to not only display and search on the contract information, but also to display the actual contract. This is about a six page document that includes signatures. Although I work for an organization that displays its goods on the WWW, and thus the actual scanning is not a problem. I personally have no experience of using scanned documents in a VFP application using Mere Mortals. If anyone can give me some pointers on the subject or the name of a publication that would help, I would be very grateful. The sort of questions I need answers to are:
>1. What is the best scanning format for use with VFP and MM.
>2. Can one read document text from a scanned A4 document satifactorily.
>3. Design ideas for adding documents to the database.
>etc.

Allan,

Alex Wieder has extensive experience with this sort of problem. In fact, he and I worked together on the same MM project utilizing the scanning functionality. He wrote the scanning module, and I'm sure he'd be happy to share his experience. I'll make sure he gets a copy of your post. I remember he had to jump through a lot of hoops to get it to work, and I'm sure he'll be happy to share his knowledge.

Regards,

Jim Weil
