We have an application in FP2.6 for Windows that has been running fine for several years. This year we began getting calls from clients on Windows 2000 where text in some memo fields on reports was printing strangely... part of a line would print then a few characters of a word would print on the next line, then the rest of the word/line would print. This would repeat itself throughout the memo field. We tracked it down to a problem when we used Arial 9 point font. When we set the same memo field to 8,10,11, or 12 point there is no problem... at least with no size modifications on the field. Also, this does not occur on all Win2K machines. My development machine is a Win2K computer and I have never had the problem.

I recently tested changing the font size on a client's computer with the problem. The Arial font had the same date and file size as the font on my computer so different font release dates is not the problem.

I suspect the problem occurs because FP is having trouble handling the new OpenType Arial font on Win2K. Has anyone else experienced this problem?
