I had the same error and found multiple solutions when I went to the Crystal Decisions website knowledgebase. I entered the text from the error message and did a search on that. OPEN SQL SERVER ERROR or whatever it was. I think there were a dozen or more possible causes and the bad part was that some solutions were totally unrelated to what the error message said. I can't remember if I ever solved my problem or what the outcome of that one was because I have been doing so many different Crystal Reports as of late, I just don't remember specifics from a couple of weeks ago. Sorry.
