Petros,
What exactly are you doing ? It's possible you could be trying to do things that even wouldn't fit thousands of Gb space. For example if you try to cross join 2 tables with 1million records in one and 10 in the other you'd end up with a table of 10 million recs. And this would need temporary space to do this also.
