Hi Omar,
First of all determine why you are going to SQL Server. Is it database size, security, concurrency, what?
Second, it's more involved than you think. SQL Server is not trvial if done properly.
Plan the use of SQL Server for what it is good at - a database engine. Determine where and what kind of processing should take place at SQL Server and the client.
VFP is an excellent host for SQL Server. No need to look at another client. This is not a biased opinion - VFP really does a nice job.
Off the shelf programs give you off the shelf results. Unless it directly addresses the problem, I would steer away from them.
Stay away from Access. You can do some things easily but robust applications are impossible IMO.
