I don't know the technical way of telling you this, but the problem is that 'variables' do not *automatically" pass into PEMs when you change them - you have to PUT THEM THERE YOURSELF.

In other words, if X= 10 and you set FontSize to X in the Properties Window (called PWIN by some, I think), then 10 it will be no matter what value you subsequently put into X. You have to change FontSize again (re-issue what you did before will work) to have a change there take effect.
