Just a thought, but how is decompilation conceptually different from compiling.

Is there any significant difference in writing code (contractually owned by the client) & compiling it using my copy of a compiler to taking an application (that I have taken every reasonable step to believe is rightly owned by the client) & decompiling it ?

Should I buy a separate compiler licence for each client I am working for - after all, if they need a compiler they should buy a copy for themselves.

(My big fear in posing the question is that MS will see another money making idea & change their licence appropriately)
