>Ok, I think I get the picture. You're saying that when printing the (single) masterdocument the subdocuments will get printed also?!

The master document has links to subdocuments, with the main feature being the ability to edit them separately, or while in the main document. But when you print main document, it prints it all together. Even renumbers the pages all the way. It worked quite well in Word 6, and I figure they kept it that way across all the versions since.

>That reminds me of people who wish that the VFP report generator is also able to print subreports. And a major advantage of Crystal Reports seems to be exactly that ability.

Yes, that's the nice part of it. It could use a layout toolbar like VFP has - the few times I had to mess with CR I kept looking for it. There's not much you can do about alignment on-the-fly, you have to draw guidelines. Another thing I greatly missed is that you can't change the expression directly in the control, you have to delete it and create a new one, then reapply all the style changes, if you still remember what they were. Or you could use the formula builder, and keep a separate formula for each field... quite a PITA. Though, this was CR6, don't know about 8.x.

>But really, I think that vfp's NATIVE report generator should be the STRONGEST and BEST report generator in the market. Reporting should be as much CORE of VFP as table handling is.

Proper Serbian proverb would be "from your mouth into God's ears". Actually the report is quite powerful as it is, it's the report designer interface, preview problems, lack of OOP and subreports - if that was fixed it would bethe best one on the planet. Just imagine having a logotype class which would read the values from a table - you'd simply drop it on a report and had the whole header done, and if you installed the same thing for a different customer, only the data in the table would be different. "See mom, no hands!", right?

>By the way, I like your - and your daughter's - website.

Thanks, and my sincere appologies for the colors on the main page - never got around to fix that. I tried to make everything visible, and I think each color pair makes sense for itself, but not all of them on the same page :).
