Hi - I am just starting out with VB and SQL Server 2000 - I know a little bit of VB and I know VFP reasonably well - where's a good place to start (tutorials on the net etc) to learn about creating database applications with VB and SQL.

Also - I am comparing techniques I use in VFP (cos that's what I know...) - in VFP I create a application object with variables like oAppTitle, oCurrentPrimaryKey, oAppUserName etc which holds info that I access whilst the application is running... Is this possible in VB and how's it done?
