The problem is the way that the selected font under VFP 6 maps ASCII characters to display symbols; the behavior under DOS is not identical to the behavior of, say, Arial font under Windows. If you have the requirement that the content must display identically for both DOS and the WinApp, use a font that maps the character set identically to how DOS maps them such as FoxPrint or FoxFont.
