What James was trying to say is that he uses a temporary BizObj and it's builder for the purpose of creating a DataEnvironment class. It is this class that the DataEnvironment.init instantiates with the line of code: This.oDataEnvironment = CREATEOBJECT("") - where you replace with the DataEnvironment class you created with the help of the BizObj builder.

You are right that the report does not have a Business Object so you can't use a builder there to create the data environment class. Create a Business Object outside of the report and use it to create the data environment class. You can then throw the business object away or keep it in your aBizness class library if you think you'll modify the data environment later.
