>>Jerry,

This thought has been something I am actually waiting for,But a few modifications, I would truly like to see it somewhat different than the way Bill and crew invision it.

I think that ASP's should or could host your own OS for you,( Provide you updates to your os, on request.)
Host your apps,
Host your data
Host your hardware configurations
you local machine, has memory, processor, and something akin to flashcard type memory, which holds the most used apps - or data, (all transparent to the user)

Imagine, actually having a choice of ASP's like ISP's (which could turn out to be same thing) Which provide you this type of service. and when you turn it on, you are prompted for what OS do you want to run today ?
Each of your OS's you configure with your apps (all downloaded) So from your office or home, or clients office, you have access to all your necessary configurations and applications, from where ever.
We are getting there.... I just hope to see it actually happen.

p.s. I just ordered my 80 gig drive for my laptop... So Linux and Win2000 on my lap is only days away. !! 80 Gigs on a laptop drive 189.00 from Dell. I am still picking myself up.

>Also, I still see Microsoft creating a PassPort PC - one which doesn't contain HDs or floppies, or hardware to connect them. Just a CHIP that is coded to connect to PassPort and download a BIOS and OS. An LCD, mouse, Printer, Keyboard, all through a USP. That kind of hardware will seriously upset hardware vendors and software vendors.
In the beginning, there was a command prompt, and all was well.
