I've been out of the MAC market for quite some time, but I put myself through college with my MAC SE 30 and Filemaker Pro. FileMaker Pro has come a long way. I stopped using it after version 4.0, and I was impressed with what you could accomplish with it. It also ports seamlessly to the Windows version. The only problem I see is that it is not an open system. There are no ODBC drivers for it, and the only way to get it to talk to other systems is to import/export the data. This is a major drawback in my opinion. Also, there are not a lot of MAC shops left. FileMaker Pro is a great tool for running small apps in a small shop without alot users. I don't know of any other database tool for the MAC that can do quite as much as FileMaker Pro.
