thank you for your time. Firstly, I agree totally with your remark ("I would never parameterize a view using a reference to a form value"), unfortunately I inherited this app and all its foibles, and intend to clean it up, given the time. However, the problem I have is , the app is a ****ing important one (as far as my client is concerned) and I need to fix / bodge it , as soon as possible to meet their requirements. I have made the changes you and others suggested, and combined with Erik's "Eview" now have a workable solution
