Greetings!

When I exit from the control panel in WIN95, I'm getting a "fatal exception" error in module "VXD IFSMGR(04)" on a full DOS-like blue screen. After pressing Enter, I'm returned to Windows. However, the quick icons beside the clock--for display and sound--vanish, and application buttons appear beside the "Start" button for resident programs, such as Office Manager.

From here, I can manually get rid of the extra buttons, and even go into Control Panel and re-enable the quick icons. I can also exit Control Panel without another error. However, there are a few inconsistent problems which prompt me to reboot, such as trouble with peripherals.

What could be going on? My only thought is due to possible device conflicts since adding a driver for a color printer and a scanner. I have also added a SCSI card for the scanner. I don't recall ever having this trouble prior to adding equipment.

Is there anything that could be done or checked prior to re-installing everything one at a time?

Thanks for any input!
