Senario:
I download movie files from the net. Some movies are split into a series of playable files.

Problem:
I want to make a program that will merge these series of files into just one big movie. But I do not understand the header information of the movie files. Does anyone know how or at least where I can get some write ups on the formating of videos? Or does anyone know how I can create a program that will combine these files. I do not want to use 3rd party software for this. I'd like to make my own.

Any help would be highly appreciated.
