Nick Neklioudov [nneklioudov@levelextreme.com] has published a VFP-based chat system here on the UT that uses DCOM as the communication mechanism.
I published a VFP-based chat system in FoxTalk that uses a third party messaging hub (the InterCom system from CNS software) as the communication system. You can also read my article on my
