>I have tables setup in VFP 6.0 that use the character(binary) data type for the primary key. When I try and use Crystal Reports to link the tables I get an error from Crystal Reports saying "Invalid File Link. Not an indexed field". I am using ver 6.0 of Crystal Reports does anybody know how to get around this or if this problem is fixed in later version of Crystal Reports.
What method of accessing the tables are you using? Crystal does not support native VFP tables (except for the ODBC driver). There is a FoxPro native driver, but it supports only the old-style tables from FoxPro 2.X -- not the new-fangled DBCs. To use that driver, you must COPY TO TYPE FOX2X and reference the old-style tables. This is true even in version 8.5. Does that help?
