>I'm a one man shop as well. I've been using the framework for about 2 years (October 1999.) One of my projects is a large application for a catering company that also has a food commissary side to their business. The commissary daily prepares over 15,000 meals daily divided into various 'mealtypes', such as various breakfasts, lunches, evening meals, snacks, and speciality meals such as Kosher and non-milk. They have a fleet of trucks and drivers that deliver the prepared food to Adult and child day care facilities, offices,
Interesting! I've got a MM app. in use at a customer that sells food to catering companies (the small "roach coach" trucks). It sounds like there are some similarities between our two applications. We're in the process of phasing out their existing system (which is nothing more than a bunch of spreadsheets and macros) so this system is still a work-in-progress.
They use the main application to enter their orders and run reports. There is also a customer order entry system that can be installed at their customers sites. This app. dials into their server, uploads any pending orders, and downloads any menu changes. When it is first installed it automatically downloads all the data needed to run the system, including order history, routes, products, holidays, companies, etc. I'm running Web Connect on the server as the glue between these two applications.
They have some companies that aren't willing to use the order entry system, so for them they are using blank order forms printed out of our system. They fill in the order sheet and then these sheets are scanned in - the data is then imported into the system.
