Thanks for your reponse. I tried your suggestions and the problem persists. I printed the text files which the reports created from both the DOS edit program and the windows notepade program and both printed just fine. However, the output from within the application still insists on printing black boxes. I also too the application home and printed the output to my laser printer with the same result. (I'm printing from an Epson dot matrix printer at work). I also tried the SET PRINTER FONT "courier", 12 command - again, no help.

I also created a very small PRG file which printed out a few lines and ran it from within VFP and it printed fine. So, the problem must be within my application.

To reiterate, I'm issuing the SET DEVICE TO SCREEN command. If I follow that with a SET PRINTER TO , the text file prints out fine and I can then print this file just fine.

I've never encountered this problem in all my years of working with Foxpro and I'm really stumped. If ANYONE has any ideas, I'll be most gratefull.
