I want to create an application where terminals can add data to the databases even while they are "offline", and later this data will be syncronized with the main database.

How should I handle the generation of unique index values in the tables? Until now I used a separate table "Primkeys" where I store the values used and this works perfectly in a multiuser situation - as long as all users work in the same database.

If anybody could give me some ideas about this issue I would really appreciate that!
