No argument here, though we have some systems requirements...but for "light" grid data entry: when you try to use row-highlighting on editable grid cells, editing becomes very difficult with the highlight in the way when you move between cells...so I've convinced requirements people that we should have no row highlighting for this. Some people may frown on the record mark, but most users here use Access, and are very comfortable with the record mark instead of highlighting.
