If something in the file is not in proper order, I move the file to a subdirectory called problem. I receive 2 types of files. Some are txt file and others are dbf files. I've saken the suggestion of using an error method. I tyr to use the file, if successful I browse it. SInce I can't use a test file the error routine returns a false to a var and I then issue a modi file command.

Ok. If you open the text file by using Modi File you would just do Ctrl-W to save it when done.
