Does anyone know of an invoice/POS/sales tracking application that is designed for software developers? I'd really like something that knows about the peculiarities of our industry (e.g., version numbers, serial numbers, unlock codes, upgrades). I've seen DESI in the file section but it is just generic invoices. I could build on it, of course, or I could continue developing the homegrown system that we've been using for a while but I was hoping to avoid the effort.

Note that I'm not looking for accounting software. We use QuickBooks and that works fine. But we sell retail (i.e., end-user) software and the QuickBooks database is limited to 14500 customers but that's far too few for us. We enter daily sales totals and that is sufficient for accounting but for tracking customers, purchase histories, looking up serial numbers, etc., we need a separate database.

There are a variety of POS programs out there, of course, but I'm hoping that there is something designed for software authors. It would also be good if it was written in VFP or Access so I could import/export records easily, etc.

Is there something designed for _shareware_ authors, perhaps?
