That is the exact same file I installed on my Win98SE machine here at work yesterday with no problems. VFP6 and VB6 still fire up just fine. What component of VS is trashed? I also installed this same file on my Dell Win2k laptop with no problems with VS6. VFP 7 is also installed on both machines, and I have no problems there either.
