Excellent advice! I found myself during December of 1981 making a decision to build a new S-100 Bus Computer and purchasing dBase II. That lead to a career that has allowed me to raise and support my family when the bottom floor dropped out of electronics manufacturing in Silicon Valley, which ended my electronics engineering career. Each time a new technology was introduced using dBase or Fox Tools I took up the challenge. When VFP 3.0 was introduced in July 1995, I made the decision to not look back but to embrace the new technology. Being in on the ground floor is a challenge but pays back huge dividends!

Now I find myself looking at .NET, and told my family I will be putting together a new “Supper Computer” to work with the .NET technology. My ability to support my family depends upon my being of value to the job market. This is an exciting time and .NET is just another tool to learn and become proficient with.

I am sure you and others will contribute much to this new technology.
