Thanks for the reply David. I sort-of came to the same conclusion in my own way. I've stuck with the ShellExecute() API call. When I used the createprocess in testing, I periodically ran into problems which were hard to isolate and since I've never experienced any problems with shellexecute() (plus it is less code than createprocess), I've decided to stick with it.
