I think it had to do with other partners and creditors feeling that AT&T was trying to buy Excite at clearance prices because AT&T was the largest Excite share holder and controlled the board.

>Interesting comments at the URL below and leaves you wondering what is going on. Funny thing after the Thursday announcement about the case involving Excite.com and chapter 11 going to court there was no news about the decision that was reached. Instead now we learn that Excite pulled the plug on AT&T. Customer service at its best!

>>AT&T is the largest cable company. They had something like 800,000 cable modem users.

>>>I guess their service area is larger than I thought. My mother is located in Grand Junction, CO and has the same problem. 2 days to 2 weeks downtime they think. The funny/frustrating part is that I have cablemodem here in NC with TimeWarner Cable and Road Runner and we had just started using our webcams the day before!
